Alliance, OH – Messiah College swept four duals this afternoon, including an exciting 18-17 win over the host Raiders of the University of Mount Union.
Against Muskingum College, Messiah won eight of the ten bouts in a 39-11 win. Messiah won 33-2 over Thiel College with nine of the 10 bouts going the Falcons' way. And against Washington and Jefferson College, Messiah won 8 of the 10 bouts in a 37-7 win.
Sophomore
Jake English gave the Falcons some extra points by pinning Jeremy Regula of Mount Union. English got the pin by way of headlock in the first period.
“That match really turned the tide for us against Mount Union,” said head coach
Bryan Brunk in reference to English's match against Jeremy Hathaway.
Sophomore
Kaleb Loht continued his winning streak by winning all four of his matches today. Loht was also named Outstanding Wrestler for the lightweights of the duals by the coaches.
Many of the wrestlers for Messiah won multiple matches on the day, a few of those include freshman

Heath Strickland (149), and senior
Steven Bandstra (184).
“It was a fun dual to be a part of,” said head coach
Bryan Brunk. “We overcame a lot of adversity to win that last match.”
The Falcons will ride this impressive win into the next tournament, the Messiah Petrofes Invitational. The tournament is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. on November 30 in Grantham, Pa.
