Gettysburg, PA - Messiah College freshman Kaleb Loht was named to the All-Freshman team for D3Wrestle.com this weekend, taking recognition as the top performer for the 133 lb. weight class.

"It's a pretty cool recognition," Messiah head coach Bryan Brunk said. "To be recognized as the most successfull wrestler in the country for your weight class is a special honor."

Loht finished with a record of 38-6 for the 2011-12 season, taking home 3rd place in the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference (ECWC) Championships Tournament. Additional honors included 1st place finishes in the Messiah Invitational and Roger Williams Invitational, and 4th place finishes at the Petrofes and Wheaton Invitationals.

"Kaleb is going to continue to improve, even after performing at such a high level this year," Brunk said. "He has lot to build off of, and we're already excited for what he'll bring to our team next year."

"This recognition is well-deserved," Brunk continued. "We hope it's the first of many."
