Grantham, PA – Though the Christmas season has mostly come and gone, Messiah College Athletics has one more gift to give: free, high-definition streaming of the Falcons.

Messiah College Athletics and the Falcon Athletic Network is set to roll out a new streaming platform in 2014—GoMessiah.tv— with live and on-demand features in high-definition quality and free to the viewer. The Falcons' new streaming site will be hosted in partnership with Stretch Internet.

"We're thrilled to be moving into a new phase of athletics streaming," Messiah Assistant Athletics Director Steve King said. "The new GoMessiah.tv will provide streaming coverage of the Falcons like never before, and we believe the high-definition, free access will be highly valued and appreciated by our fans."

The new GoMessiah.tv platform will debut on Wednesday, Jan. 8 when the Falcons' women's and men's basketball teams host Lycoming College.

"Early on, our fans can expect to see improvements from our past broadcasts," King said. "Obviously, the quality of the stream itself will be higher, and viewers will not have to pay for access. But fans will also see additional graphics and features, like a running clock and the score. We're trying to not add too much at once, but we're confident the product will be much improved right away."

King went on to say that the move away from the old pay-per-view model was made possible only because of the viewers themselves.

"We have literally thousands of alumni, parents, and other fans that tune into broadcasts throughout the year, and making our new model free to the viewer is only possible because of their support," King said. "Providing a free, high-definition stream comes with a cost, and donations to the Falcon Athletic Network make it possible for us to meet that cost."

The new GoMessiah.tv will also include additional live links, such as live statistics and other radio broadcasts that may take place. Fans are encouraged to follow the schedule closely to tune into the Falcons' contests.
