Annville, PA - The Falcons men's and women's cross country teams competed in the MAC Championships, hosted by Lebanon Valley, on Saturday at Union Canal Park. Competing against 13 teams each, the Falcons ran strong races, with the men finishing second (60 points) and the women finishing in third place (85 points).

The men finished only behind defending conference champion Widener (27), who finished with five First Team All-Conference runners. The Falcons had two First Team All-Conference runners of their own, in Tyler Sensenig (5th) and Jared Schatz (6th). Cameron Shirk (16th) and Christopher Scheib (20th) also earned All-Conference honors, both placing on the second team.

"I'm just really proud of the fact the men ran patient and mature in the beginning, and then pushed the middle and then finished strong," said head coach Dale Fogelsanger. "That just shows the maturity of junior and senior guys to be patient in a big race like today."

Fogelsanger went on to say that the race of the day came from Jonphillip McGill, who finished fifth for the Falcons and 24th overall.

In the women's race, the Falcons placed third behind Misericordia (53 points) and DeSales (65 points). Like the men, the women had four runners earn All-Conference honors, with Tasha Becker (11th), Alissa Rogers (13th), Holly Eliason (17th), and Natalie Ross (18th) all earning Second Team.

Elizabeth Lelonek (27th) rounded out the Falcons scoring, finishing fifth.

Foglesanger also mentioned that he hoped the Falcons' sixth (Emma Barbagallo) and seventh (Leah Novak) runners would be in front of some other team's fives, which they were.

"Today gives us confidence that our training cycle is right on, that we can race smart, and that we can adapt to what other competitors are doing," said Fogelsanger.

The Falcons will take off next weekend, before competing in NCAA Regionals on Nov. 14.

NCAA Regionals will be hosted by Dickinson College at Big Spring High School beginning at 11:00 a.m.
