Messiah College Women's Basketball All-Time Conference Honors

Annville, PA – Just one day after defeating rival Elizabethtown College in the Commonwealth Semifinals to set-up a Championship showdown with another familiar foe, Messiah College women's basketball was honored by the conference with three players named All-Commonwealth. Senior Taylor Miller and Chelsea Danel were named to the Second Team, and Gillian Glackin was named the league's Rookie of the Year– the first such honor collected by a Falcon in program history.

Miller's honor is the second-straight of her career. This season she became the 19th player in program history to tally 1,000 points for her career, and she currently sits 12th all-time for the Falcons with 1,135 points. In her final campaign Miller is averaging a career-high 11.3 points per game (ppg) and 77.3% free-throw percentage over a career-best 30.9 minutes per game (mpg).

The honor for Danel is the first of her career. She has set career-best marks in points (12.2 ppg), three-point shooting (36.9%), free-throw shooting (88.4%), rebounds (3.5 rpg), assists (4.0 apg), and minutes (32.8 mpg). She also led the conference in total assists (75) and, along with Miller, has been a primary component of the Falcons' play this season.

First-year forward Gillian Glackin is tied with Danel at 12.2 ppg and has been a forceful player for the Falcons on the interior. She was second overall in the conference with 2.3 blocks per game and led the Falcons with 8.2 rpg. Glackin also improved her footwork and shooting throughout the season and currently holds impressive averages of 48.1% shooting from the field and 74.2% shooting from the free-throw line.

The Falcons are currently 19-7 after defeating Elizabethtown last night. They will travel to Lebanon Valley College on Saturday, Mar. 1 for the Commonwealth Championships. The game is set to tip-off at 3:00 p.m.
