Boone Galaska Crop 4-27
about Galaska's play. "He stuck to the plan that we talked about and was able to overcome the course conditions.

"The course was set up for difficult play and the greens were really fast, and then it was windy on top of that. So it was an impressive win for the guys."

Loesser also played very well to finish in second place overall. The senior started out the tournament with a phenomenal two-under front nine on day one to help him to a total of 159.

"Brian played extremely well and stuck to his style of play," explained coach Boone. "He can hit it all over the course but still make good scores and he just stayed focused on hitting those good scores."

Jordan Kirsch was a big mover for the Falcons; the first-year golfer made up four strokes from his first round score to finish in the top-10 with a +21, 164. Kirsch hit 10 pars in Round 2 on his way to 2nd Team All-Commonwealth.

Finishing only one stroke behind Kirsch was Justin Sisson in a tie for 12th place overall. Sisson shot an 82 in the first round and 83 in the second for a 165 total score.

Evan Lebo was the fifth Messiah golfer who shot an 86 for both rounds of the tournament to finish in a tie for 23rd place.

"I believed that these guys could get to this point from the beginning," said coach Boone about the team. "They just needed to believe in themselves and they did exactly that."

For coach Boone it is the third time that he is named Coach of the Year, and Galaska becomes the second Falcon to win Golfer of the Year next to three-time winner Matt Burkhart.

Messiah will be making their second trip to the NCAA Championships; the first time was in 2010 after winning their first Conference Championship. Continue to follow GoMessiah.com for updates on the men's golf trip to Greensboro.
