Louisville, KY – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced their All-Region awards for NCAA Division III Softball this week, with the Falcons'
Becky Notte and
Courtney Allen listed among the honorees.
Â
Notte was named First Team for the East Region, her second-straight season in the All-Region selection at the catching position. Allen was named to the Third Team as a centerfielder.
Â
The Falcons' backstop entered the NCAA Championships Tournament this week with a team-best .479 batting average, 56 hits, and 30 RBI. She's riding a 12-game hit streak and has hit safely in 26 of her last 27 games and 31 of 37 games overall this season.
Â
Allen's All-Region nod is the first of her career. She's batting .410 and leads the Falcons in extra-base hits (11) including two homeruns. Like Notte, she has been super dependable at the plate as she's hit in 30 of 37 games; Allen as also reached base in all but four games this season.
Â
Both Notte and Allen were
named First Team All-Commonwealth this season. Earlier this month Allen was also
named CoSIDA Academic All-District.
