Grantham, PA - The Falcons proved to be too much for the Crusaders this afternoon as they needed just five matches to secure the victory.
Messiah swept doubles play, highlighted by a tough 8-6 win coming from
Michael Brookhart and
Tim Dunn.
Peter Shuck and
Michael Kovacs came away with an 8-3 victory, with
Devin Esch and Conner Graybeal rounding out doubles with a clean 8-0 win.
Peter Shuck (6-0, 6-1), and
Devin Esch (6-0, 6-0) earned the swift victories in singles to give Messiah the semifinal win. The Falcons will next play the winner of No. 3 Lebanon Valley vs. No. 2 Stevenson on Saturday, May 2 at 1:00 p.m. when they look to repeat as Commonwealth Champions. Messiah has faced both Lebanon Valley and Stevenson in the regular season and won both matches.
