Falcons Show Well At LVC Last Chance Meet

Annville, PA – A handful of runners from Messiah's women's cross country team traveled to MAC Commonwealth opponent Lebanon Valley to run in the LVC Last Chance Run on Friday evening. The women did not score points, but three out of the four ran season best times to close their regular season.
 
With many of the women getting the weekend off to rest for the MAC Championship meet next weekend, Ally Bishop stepped up to finished 27th overall with her season-best time of 26:27.3. That time beat her previous best of the season by over 30 seconds. Following Bishop was Aja Cunningham, who finished in 29th with a time of 26:44.6.
 
Running for the first time since the Messiah Invitational on Sept. 24th, Maddie Smith ran a season-best time of 28:06.0 to place 42nd, beating her previous best of 28:32.47. Sarah Hannigan was the Falcons' final runner, finishing in 48th place with her time of 28:44.1.
 
Point Park traveled all the way from Pittsburgh to compete in the meet, and they made the trip worth their while. The Pioneers earned five top-ten finishes to earn the first-place team finish. Conference opponents who scored were Misericordia (third, 77 points), Lycoming (fourth, 95 points), King's (Pa.) (fifth, 129 points), Lebanon Valley (sixth, 139 points), and Wilkes (seventh, 201 points).

The Falcons will return home to Starry Athletic Complex next weekend for the 2016 MAC Championship on Oct. 29th.
