Grantham, PA – With the weather slowly turning and the days getting longer, Messiah College men's soccer released their schedule for the upcoming 2016 season. The Falcons will open in Roanoke, Va. on Sept. 2 and 3 against both the Maroons and Lynchburg College.

The opening weekend will be the start of an 18-game regular-season slate, with the Falcons' first home games coming across Sept. 9 and 10 against Oglethorpe University and Oswego State University. Both of those games on Shoemaker Field will start at 7:00 p.m.

Messiah's non-conference schedule will also include matches with Gettysburg (Sept. 14), Mount St. Vincent (Sept. 17), York (Sept. 20), Misericordia (Sept. 24), and Elizabethtown (Sept. 28).

MAC Commonwealth play starts on Saturday, Oct. 1 when Messiah travels to Lebanon Valley. The Falcons' first conference home game is Tuesday, Oct. 11 against Lycoming. That game will be a highly-anticipated rematch of the 2015 conference championship.

The Falcons will also be home on Saturday, Oct. 15 when they host Albright on the College's Homecoming Weekend.

Messiah finishes the regular-season with home games against Widener (Oct. 22) and Hood (Oct. 25) before going on the road with Arcadia on Oct. 29.

Messiah finished the 2015 season with a 14-5-1 record, although they went 9-2-0 in their final 11 games. As mentioned, the Falcons advanced to the MAC Commonwealth Championship but also missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 19 seasons.
