A two-time National Player of the Year, Julie (Barton) Pachella commanded the midfield during a stellar three-year career for the Messiah field hockey team. As a sophomore transfer to Messiah, she scored 28 goals and assisted on 45 tallies during her three years with the Falcons. In addition to her two National Player of the Year honors, Julie was named First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Region, and a First Team All-American in all three of her seasons in Grantham.
During her time with the Falcons, Messiah held an overall record of 58-6. Julie helped the Falcons to three Conference Championships and a trio of Final Four appearances, including a pair of National Runner-Up finishes in 2009 and 2010. The Messiah field hockey record book is littered with her name with her 45 career assists ranking third in program history and her 101 career points checking in as the 16th most for the Falcons.
