Men’s Track and Field
1986-1990
Mike was a tremendous competitor on the track. Despite competing in the 18-member Middle Atlantic Conference, he was a three-time league champion in the 110 hurdles, including his senior year when Messiah won the team title. He ended his college career as an NCAA All-American in that event, finishing seventh nationally. Mike also qualifies for the NCAA championships in the 400 hurdles in 1989. When he graduated, he held Messiah records in the 110 hurdles and the triple jump, and he currently is ranked on Messiah’s top ten lists in seven different events. He also was Messiah’s first decathlete. A team captain, Mike was an active Christian and highly respected on campus.
