Coach Neil Turner led the Falcons for 12 seasons and experienced impressive levels of success that included Messiah's first-ever NCAA Division III National Champion (Mike Helm), 10 NCAA All-Americans, and 63 All-Conference performers. His 131 wins is second all-time in program history, and at the time of his induction his win percentage of .652 was first among the five coaches in the 46-year history of Messiah wrestling. His teams finished in the NCAA Top-20 on three separate occasions, foreshadowing the current-day success on the national stage.
In 2004, Neil was also inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame through the Pennsylvania Chapter, as he was recognized with the Lifetime Service to Wrestling award, given "in recognition of years of dedication and development of leadership and citizenship in the youth through the sport of wrestling."
