Women's Swimming Defeats York, Improves to 5-0

Grantham, PA - Messiah women's swimming defeated the Spartans of York College 142-61 to improve to 5-0 on season.

The Falcons won an impressive 10 of 11 events in the meet Wednesday night.
 
Messiah started the match off on a good note with a win in the 200 yard medley relay. The team of Caitlin Magaw, Sarah Woods, Tara Freeman, and Laura Penwell finished the event in 1:55.07.
 
Three Falcons won two events in the meet. Emily Reale finished first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:02.23. Reale also won the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:29.61.
 
The second Falcon to win two events was Tara Freeman. Freeman finished first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 0.25.12. She also won the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.32.
 
The third and final Falcon to win two events Wednesday night was Katie Wingert. Wingert won the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:18.29. She also finished first in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 0:55.29.
 
Other Falcons who won their respective events included Lauren Clune, Caitlin Magaw, and Sarah Woods. Clune finished first in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:13.05. Magaw won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.46, and Woods finished first in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.69.
 
The Falcons will be back in action November 15, when they travel to Gettysburg College to compete in a double-dual against Gettysburg College and Susquehanna University.
