Falcons Defeat Lions For First Dual Victory In Program History

Grantham, PA - The Falcons defeated the Lions of Albright College 127-76 to earn their first dual victory over Albright in program history and improve their record to 7-1. The Falcons did beat the Lions last year in the Commonwealth Conference Championships.

Messiah women's swimming won an impressive eight of 11 events during the meet against Albright.  The Falcons started the meet with a victory in the 200 yard medley relay. The team of Caitlin Magaw, Gaby Brubaker, Mikaela Schell, and Katie Wingert finished with a time of 1:53.13.
 
Leading the Falcons was Tara Freeman who won two events (100 and 200 yard freestyle). Freeman finished the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 0:54. 53 and the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.62.
 
Steph Walton finished first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 26.33 and Emily Reale won the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:19.81.
 
Messiah had three more individual victories with Renee Ormond (200 yard butterfly), Caitlin Magaw (200 yard backstroke), and Anna McArdle (200 yard breaststroke) and finishing first in their respective events. Ormond finished with a time of 2:19.87, Magaw with a time of 2:17.44, and McArdle with a time of 2:38.92.
 
The Falcons will be back in action December 2, when they travel to Dickinson College to take on the Red Devils.
