Falcons Dominate Warriors in Saturday Meet

Williamsport, PA – Messiah women's swimming swam fast from start to the finish in a dominating win over Lycoming on Saturday afternoon, 154-51. The win pushed the Falcons to 8-2 on the season, including 6-0 against conference opponents.
 
The women won 10 off 11 events over the Warriors, with Lycoming's lone win coming in the 100 butterfly.
 
Tara Freeman anchored wins in both the 400 medley relay (4:15.56) and 400 freestyle relay (3:48.55), and she also won the 100 freestyle (55.00). Freeman's teammates in the medley relay also won events on their own; Caitlin Magaw won the 100 backstroke (1:04.00), Sarah Woods won the 100 breaststroke (1:13.89), and Kaitlin Wingert won the 50 freestyle (25.23).
 
Lauren Clune also had a big day, as she took first in the 200 freestyle (2:03.29) and the 500 freestyle (5:29.93) before contributing to the 400 freestyle relay win.
 
Emily Reale, who also took part in the freestyle relay, won the 400 IM (4:57.52).
 
Anna McArdle also took home a first-place finish with a time of 11:48.09 in the 1000 freestyle.
 
The Falcons will now be off for more than a month and will return to action on Jan. 10 when they swim against both King's and Arcadia in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
