Lewisburg, PA - Messiah College track and field competed at the Bucknell Bison Open & Multi on Friday and Saturday, with a number of Falcons putting up impressive marks. This meet featured schools from NCAA Division I, II, and III.

On Friday, the spotlight belonged to freshman
Tim Moses, as he won the pole vault in 15'9" (4.8m), tying the school record mark he set previously this season and ranking him fourth in the nation. In other pole vault news,
Dane Cornelius improved his college personal record, vaulting 13'3.5" (4.05m).
Rachel Robison also had a good day, achieving 10'4" (3.15m).

Trevor Stutzman headlined Saturday with his stunning shot put mark of 55'3.75" (16.86m). The throw won the event, surpassed his previous personal record by greater than two feet and moved him up to fourth place in the national rankings.

This meet was heavy with distance runners, and they did not disappoint. In the men's 5000, both
Jared Schatz and
Tyler Sensenig set new lifetime bests, with times of 15:36 and 15:46. For the women,
Jenny Bender ran 18:45;
Tasha Becker ran a personal indoor record 19:31 and
Jenny Bove set a new overall PR by nine seconds with her 20:13. All Messiah 5k runners this weekend qualified for the MAC championships.

In the 3000 meters,
Joel Zeigler shattered his previous personal record by 11 seconds, running 9:49. In the mile,
Joshua Pardoe set a college personal record with his 4:37.95 and
Christopher Scheib ran an encouraging 4:45.69.

In the 800, the Falcons welcomed back
Jonphilip McGill from his cross cultural trip. McGill ran 2:00.96, a season-best, followed closely by
Phil Headland (2:01.09).
Abram Albert qualified for MACs with his 2:08.84, as did
Nathaniel Pardoe (2:05.05).

The jumps provided some excitement for the Falcons.
Kaitlyn Hostetler jumped 16'1.5" (4.91m), a personal best, in the long jump. She also achieved 33'0.25" (10.06m) in the triple jump.

The Falcons performed well in short distance events as well.
Emily Senning ran the 500 meters in 1:23.68.
Alex Yoder ran the 200 and 400, finishing in 23.00 and 50.79 seconds. His 400 time was good enough for fifth place. Brady Miller also ran the 400 in 54.26.
Natalie Booz competed in the 60m and the 200m, running 8.78 and 29.29.
Joel Ngui ran the 60 dash in 7.70 seconds.

Drew Engle competed well in the heptathlon. His highlights include a new personal record in the shot put, throwing 33'8" (10.26m) as well as a 1000 meter finish in 2:57.
Following their encouraging performances, Messiah's track & field team returns en masse to Ursinus College on Feb 8.
