Men First, Women Fifth at Dickinson Twilight

Carlisle, PA - After coming off a victorious weekend at the Messiah Invitational, the Falcons soared again as the men claimed first and the women fifth (fourth among Division III teams) at the Dickinson Twilight Meet.
 
Tim Moses brought significant points to the team as he cleared a height of 4.68m (15' 4"), breaking the previous school record of 15' 3" set by Colin Reisler in 2013. Moses' mark placed him first in the event, while Brandon Stearns set a personal best height of 4.00 m.
 
Trevor Stutzman also shined for the men's team as he seized first place in both the discus and shot put. Stutzman threw 16.87m to secure his spot in the shot, and hit a mark of 49.44m in the discus.
 
Jared Schatz brought points to the team through a first place finish in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Schatz finished with a time of 9:40.49, not only running a ten second personal best but also bumping him to the seventh place spot on Messiah' top ten performance list.
 
In the men's 100 meter dash, Messiah saw a number of solid performances. Alex Yoder, Josiah Haws, and Mark Engle grabbed second, third, and fourth in the event, running respective times of 11.24, 11.59, 11.66 seconds. 
 
Trevor Praestch joined the first place finishers for the men as well, running a season best time in the 400 hurdles of 55.43.
 
In addition, Jonphilip McGill ran a season second-best time in the 800 meter run of 1:56.14, placing second in the event.
 
As for the women, Liza Martin had a number of good performances. Martin placed first in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:04.99, in addition to seizing second in the 100 m hurdles, with a season best time of 15.45 seconds.
 
Messiah's women also performed well in the high jump, Hadlee Coker and Marie Johnson both clearing a height of 1.58m. Coker finished first in the event, while Johnson was third in jumps.
 
Rachel Robison also had a solid performance in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.05m to secure fourth place.
 
The Falcons will return to action on April 19 as a portion of the team competes at the Greyhound Invitational hosted by Moravian College.  Following this, the team looks forward to sending some relay teams to the University of Pennsylvania Relays from April 22-25.
