Women's Results by Joel Zeigler, GoMessiah.com reporterBethlehem, PA – One day after
Trevor Stutzman threw a personal record in the shot put, the Falcons collected more impressive performances at the Greyhound Invitational.
Saturday Rachel Robison set a personal record in the pole vault to highlight Messiah's results. Her jump of 3.35m (10'11.75") tied her for fourth in the invite, and, more importantly, tied her for the school record with Erin (Weaner) Brinser '06.
Tim Moses finished third in the men's vault with a jump of 4.55m (14'11").
Liz Martin set a season-best time in the 400 hurdles, taking second overall at 1:02.71. This time places her in the top fifteen in the nation.
First year Falcon
Marie Johnson also had a big day, with her especially impressive triple jump distance of 10.96m (35'11.5"), placing her in second. The women's high and triple jump were held simultaneously in this meet, so Marie was forced to bounce back and forth between the two, changing shoes each time.
On the men's side
Alex Yoder took second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.82 seconds. Also in the 400,
Jeremy White ran a personal record 50.74. Brothers Joshua and
Nathaniel Pardoe both ran the 400 for the first time collegiately, initiating their college bests respectively at 54.72 and 52.75.
Nicholas White set a new personal record in the 110 meter hurdles, taking fourth with 15.46 seconds. In the 3000m Steeplechase,
Joel Zeigler qualified for the MAC championships with his 15-second PR of 10:39.21.
In both the 100 and 200,
Natalie Booz beat her personal best, finishing in 13.70 and 28.36, respectively.
Rebecca Querfeld attained a PR in the long jump with her mark of 4.57m (15').
Friday Trevor Stutzman threw a personal record 17.15m (56'3.25") in the Shot Put on Friday to lead the Falcons into the Greyhound Invitational this weekend. Stutzman was the lone participant in Friday's events.
Stutzman's throw beat his previous PR of 16.99m, set just two weeks ago at the Messiah Invitational. His new mark improves his rank to No. 2 in Division III behind Colt Feltes of Wartburg (17.35m).
The Falcons have one more meet week until the MAC Championship meet, and will be competing at the University of Pennsylvania Relays April 22-25, and The Paul Kaiser Classic of Shippensburg University on April 26.
