ResultsSelinsgrove, PA - The Falcons competed in their first meet of 2015 on Friday at the Orange & Maroon Classic at Susquehanna University.
Highlighting the day was
Tim Moses breaking his own school record in the pole vault with a mark of 5.05m (16' 6.75"). The school-record was good enough for Moses to claim the best vault of the day by a half meter.
Moses was just one of many Falcons that had solid days. The Falcons claimed the top spot in three events on the day with
Cameron Shirk winning the 3,000m run with a time of 8:58.81, more than six seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.
Rachel Robison also took the top spot in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.30m
On the track the Falcons saw a strong finishes from a number of athletes. In the women's one-mile, the Falcons had arguably their strongest showing, when
Natalie Ross (3rd/5:40.24),
Holly Eliason (5th/5:44.49), and
Elizabeth Lelonek (6th/5:45.36) all finished in the top-six spots.
In the men's one-mile
Jonphilip McGill fished less then a second off the pace, taking second with a time of 4:30.33.
In both the men's and women's 400m dash the Falcons had finishers in the top five.
Tiffany Burrows (1:01.71) took fifth for the women while Brady Miller (52:56) claimed the third spot for the men. Fellow Falcon,
Max Whitehead (53.57) was just a second behind Miller, finishing sixth.
In the women's 3,000m run
Tasha Becker (11:04.23) nabbed a top-five finish, placing forth.
Outside of Moses and Robison winning the pole vault, the Falcons also had a pair of second-place finishes two other field events.
Hadlee Coker took second in the high jump with a height of 1.57m while
Marie Johnson used a distance of 10.51m to claim second in the triple jump.
The Falcons will be in action next weekend when they travel to Ursinus College for the Collegeville Classic on Jan. 23.
