ResultsGrantham, PA - The Messiah Falcons had an easy time with the visiting Stevenson Mustangs Saturday afternoon. The Mustangs, a first year swimming program, could not keep pace with the Falcons, with the men taking a 67-27 victory while the women won by a final of 92-60.
Â
As mentioned the Mustangs are in their first-year as a program and have a very thin roster. The Mustangs have just eight women on the roster and one swimmer, Zac Carther, on the men's side. So while the Falcons have a relatively young program themselves, compared to Stevenson they have an extremely established track record. The Falcons used that experience to dominate nearly every race in the meet.
Â
The Falcons did break two pool records this afternoon, both in the 800 meter freestyle relay. The team of
Aaron Eckman,
Nick Wieder,
Nate Brown, and
Dakota Schmalz finished in a time of 7:44.06 to claim a pool record for the men, while
Kaitlin Wingert,
Lauren Clune,
Emily Reale, and
Tara Freeman finished in 8:11.96 for a women's record.
Â
The Falcons will next be in action next Saturday when the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen travel to Grantham. The meet is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Fredricksen Natatorium.
