Messiah Men's Soccer All-Time All-Commonwealth Honors

Annville, PA – The MAC Commonwealth released the 2015 men's soccer conference awards Tuesday, and Messiah College led the way with eight honorees. Will Cochran, Danny Rowe, and Jacob Bender were all First Team elections.

The Second Team was packed with Falcons: David Alejos, Nick West, Benji Kennel, Matt Kyne, and Bryant Myer. Kyne and Myer are the only repeat All-MAC Commonwealth selections as they were named Second Team and First Team last season, respectively.

Danny Rowe leads the Falcons with nine goals and 20 points, with his total goals, assists, and points all surpassing his career totals entering this season. Three of Rowe's nine goals have been game-winners, also a career-best mark.

Will Cochran is tied with Benji Kennel for third on the team in points (14), and he's also having a career year with six goals and two assists. Four of his tallies have come in conference games, and his dynamic play up front—and in the air—has been an asset to the Falcons' attack. Jacob Bender has four goals and five assists from the back line and is well-regarded as one of the top two-way players in the Region.

The Second Team election for Kennel is the first of his career. The senior has started each of the past 41 games for the Falcons and he leads this year's team with five game-winners. Kennel was also recently selected CoSIDA Academic All-District for the second-straight season.

As mentioned, Kyne and Myer were each honored for the second-straight season. The duo has been an integral part of the Falcons' back line that has collected five consecutive shutouts (11 overall). The Messiah defense owns a 0.83 goals against average and is allowing just 7.4 shots per game to their opponents.

David Alejos has three goals to go along with a team-high seven assists. He's done well in his first season and has shown himself to be a dynamic one-on-one winger from the left side. Classmate Nick West (6g, 3a) is second on the team with 15 points, and he's settled into a starting role on the right wing for the Falcons. Like Alejos, West has provided athletic and skillful play up front to create chances on the end line and toward the goal.

Messiah (13-4-1) is the No. 2 seed in this week's MAC Commonwealth Tournament and is set to host No. 3-seeded Lebanon Valley on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 7:00 p.m.
