Grantham, PA - The Falcons of Messiah College edged the Warriors of Lycoming College Saturday afternoon 144-118. Messiah won 6 of the 14 events but had higher placers throughout each event to capture the victory.
 
Aaron Eckman led the Falcons this afternoon with three first place finishes. His first victory was in the 1,000 yard free with a time of 11:01.93, nine seconds faster than the runner-up.
 
Eckman continued his winning ways with another first place finish in the 200 yard free with a time of 1:53.38. The final event Eckman won was the 500 yard free and finished with a time of 5:11.49.
 
Dakota Schmalz joined Eckman by winning the 200 yard fly with a time of 2:00.74. The final individual first place finisher was Nolan McArdle who captured the victory in the 100 yard IM with a time of 55.86.
 
The Falcons wrapped up the meet with a team victory in the 200 yard free relay. The tandem of Dakota Schmalz, Daniel Jessen, Joseph Cornelius, and Nolan McArdle finished with a time of 1:33.93.
 
The men's swimming team improves 2-6 overall and 2-3 in the conference with the victory. Messiah will be back in action Jan. 14 when they compete in a double-dual against King's College (Pa.) and Arcadia University at Messiah College.
