Grantham, PA - The Messiah Falcons defeated the York Spartans 36-6 on Thursday evening in Brubaker Auditorium. The Falcons looked impressive as they won 9 out of the ten bouts during the dual meet.

Lucas Malmberg started the Falcons off fast at 125 pounds with a fall in 3:40. Malmberg was dominating the match before he caught Lake Laughman on his back and earned the fall.

Defending national champion and No. 1 ranked
Kaleb Loht kept his winning ways going at 141 pounds when he defended a shot from Chase Colley and threw him to his back to collect the fall in 1:46.

Adam Peris expanded the Falcons lead over the Spartans at 149 pounds with a tough 4-3 decision and made the team score 15-3 in the Falcons favor. Both No. 8
Larry Cannon and
Derek Beitz earned major decisions at 157 and 165 pounds by collecting multiple takedowns and using solid riding from the top position.Â

The most entertaining match of the night came at 174 pounds where No. 3
Josh Thomson edged Tyler Rhoads 6-4 in sudden victory. Thomson and Rhoads ended regulation tied at four a piece. Rhoads created the action in sudden victory when Thomson suddenly perfected a duck under and collected the win.

Ben Swarr used various takedowns and dominating top work to accumulate a 14-4 major decision at 184 pounds.
Kyle Koser and
Jason Wright wrestled smart matches and earned decision victories over their Spartan opponents to cap off the 36-6 victory over York College.
