Chester, PA – Messiah College outdoor track & field was impressive this weekend in their season-opening competition at the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener University. Trevor Stutzman took first in both the discus and shot put to highlight a number of great performances for the Falcons.

Stutzman, who recently earned All-American in the NCAA Indoor Championships shot put, took the discus event with a throw of 49.27m (161'8") and followed that up with a top mark in the shot put (17.16m; 56'3.75").

"Trevor was great again today," head coach Dale Fogelsanger said. "He's still going strong from the winter season.

"Overall, it was a great day for us even though it was just above freezing the whole time. It was well worth the trip and time down here."

Jonphilip McGill joined Stutzman as standout performers with a second-place finish in the 800 meter run (1:58.22).

Notice: Less than a handful of events had results reported late, including the men's pole vault and the men's javelin.
