ResultsGrantham, PA - Messiah College men's track & field took first among 18 teams on Saturday at the 37th annual Messiah Track & Field Invite. The Falcons scored 202 points, 110 more points than second place Frostburg State.

The Falcons' depth across a wide range of events helped them pull away, with a number of personal records and MAC qualifications earned throughout the day.

On the TrackAs one would expect from the final score, the Falcons were dominant on the track. Included among the best performances was
Mark Engle taking fourth in the 100 meter dash with a Messiah program No. 10-best time of 11.27 seconds.

In the 800 meter run
Jonphilip McGill and
Phil Headland finished second and third with times of 1:55.08 and 1:57.23, respectively.
Cameron Shirk then took first (4:08.87), Christopher Schieb fourth (4:11.13), and
Joshua Pardoe seventh (4:14.62) to lead the Falcons in the 1500 meter run.

As the distances grew, the Falcons got strong. Messiah finished 1-2-3 in the 5000 meter run with
Tyler Sensenig (15:45.50) leading
Caleb McGaughran and
Kenton Grossnickle.

Nicholas White kept the momentum for Messiah in hurdles, taking second in the 110 event with a time of 15.01.
Max Whitehead (58.30) and
Donnell McNair (60.29) then took second and fourth, respectively, the 400 hurdles.

Jared Schatz took first (9:36.22) in the steeplechase, which was a highlight on a sunny day.
Nathan Fleming was fourth at 10:37.90.

In the relays, Messiah's B-team pulled an upset of the A-team in the 4x800 with a time of 8:19.53, though the scoring still went to the first squad.
In the ThrowsChristian Pavolich highlighted a group of standout performers with a top mark in the javelin. He improved upon his own Messiah No. 4 mark with a throw of 58.21m (191'00"), almost four feet further than his previous PR.

Michael Boyles launched himself into Messiah's Top 10 in the hammer with a PR of exactly seven feet; Boyles took fifth with a throw of 39.47m (129'6").

Trevor Stutzman took first in the Shot Put (16.80m; 55'1.5") and second in the Discus (47.51m; 155'10"), though both throws were below his previous best career marks.

In the JumpsTim Moses was a standout in the pole vault, taking first place with a mark of 4.97m (16'3.5"). His vault set a new Starry Field record.

In the high jump
Aaron Powell (1.83m; 6'00") and
Donnell McNair (178m; 5'10") took third and fourth, respectively.

DecathlonDonnell McNair took third place with 5,154 points in his first-ever decathlon. He led six Falcons who competed in the event. McNair's points were bolstered by a first place-tying 1.70m (5'7") mark in the high jump and a first place time in the 1500 meter run (4:41.08).

The Falcons will next compete at the Larry Ellis Invitational in Princeton, N.J. on Apr. 17.
