Annville, PA – Messiah College men's and women's track & field continued their seasons tonight at Lebanon Valley College in the Go Dutchmen Indoor Invitational. With only six multi-event athletes competing, the Falcons all but dominated the men's heptathlon and women's pentathlon.

On the women's side, junior
Rebecca Querfeld placed first in the pentathlon, running for a personal best in the 55-meter hurdles (9.93 seconds). Fellow junior
Brooke Maneval took third, tying her own personal best in the high jump with a height of 4'10.6."

Dane Cornelius ran away with first place in the men's heptathlon, setting or tying personal bests in five of the heptathlon's seven events. Cornelius set personal bests in the long jump (19'3.1"), shot put (33'5.5"), high jump (5'4.1"), and 1000-meter run (2:59.01), and tied his personal best in the 55-meter dash (7.27 seconds). Those performances all added up to a total of 4,132 points, a new career-high mark and more than 200 points greater than his previous record.

Following closely behind was
Aaron Gray, who also had an impressive outing. Gray set personal bests in the shot put (31'10.2"), high jump (5'2.9"), and tied his personal best in the pole vault (12'5.6"). To cap his performance, Gray also set a career-high in total points, tallying 3,650, good for second place in the event.

The Falcons will continue their indoor season on January 22, when they travel to Susquehanna University to compete at the annual Orange and Maroon Classic.
