Gettysburg, PA - The No. 6 Falcons of Messiah College routed the Bullets of Gettysburg college by a 36-10 final score. Messiah took eight of the ten matches and collected bonus points in six matches during the dominating victory.
No. 1
Lucas Malmberg started the dual with a dominating 20-2 technical fall over Lenny Ogozalek and gave Messiah an early 5-0 lead. Malmberg took control of the match early and held a commanding 8-2 lead after the first period.

During the second period Malmberg poured on the points with multiple takedowns and finished the match with a tilt for the tech fall.

At 133 pounds,
Hunter Harris earned a 5-1 decision over Louie Carusillo and extended Messiah's lead to 8-0. Harris led 2-1 after the first period and rode Carusillo for the entire second period for essential riding time. Harris added a reversal in the third period and collected the victory.

Next,
Andres Gutierrez tallied a first period fall over Brandon Caffrey at 141 pounds. Gutierrez scored a first period takedown and quickly capitalized off a roll through tilt for four near fall points. Leading 6-0, Gutierrez locked up a cork screw and earned the fall in 1:42.

Messiah tallied their fourth straight victory with a 17-0 technical fall from
Lee Cassel over Everett Roach. Cassel used a plethora of takedowns and locked up two cradles for back points during the match for the tech fall victory.

Trailing 19-0, Gettysburg won their first bout of the night at 157 pounds as Quinn Merrigan edged
Greg Kabakjian with a 5-3 decision. After a scoreless first period, Merrigan scored a takedown and Kabakjian earned an escape to narrow the score to 2-1.

Merrigan tallied another takedown in the third period and captured the decision. The Bullets won their second straight bout of the dual at 165 pounds as Colin Kowalski defeated
Josh Toal by a 9-1 major decision.

The Falcons got back in the win column as
Jeff Hojnacki pinned Brandon Carcuffe in 4:59. Hojnacki strung together multiple takedowns before locking up a tight cradle to pin Carcuffe with one second remaining in the second period.

Derek Beitz earned an impressive 18-3 technical fall victory over Crawford Oswald at 184 pounds. Beitz jumped out to a 6-0 lead as he lateral dropped Oswald in the first 30 seconds of the match. Beitz continued to rack up takedowns for the tech fall.

At 197 pounds, No. 3
Josh Thomson pinned Brandon Casamassima in 1:32 and extended the Falcons lead to 36-7. The tightest match of the night came at 285 pounds as Paul Triandafilou edged
Jason Wright in sudden victory by a 4-2 score.

Both wrestlers earned two escapes before Triandafilou scored a takedown in sudden victory.

The Falcons improved to 11-2 with the victory and will be back in action tomorrow when they wrestle King's College (Pa.), Penn College, and Southern Virginia University at Gettysburg College.
