Results
York, PA – The Messiah men's swim team was defeated by York College 150-104 on the road earlier today. The loss drops Messiah to 2-6 overall on the season.
While it wasn't the result they wanted, there were some great performances on the day for the Falcons.
Drew Wolfe swam a 10:44.37 in the 1000 Free, which earned him a second place finish. In the 200 Free
Jeremy Wakeley finished in fourth place with a time of 1:55.20.
Nolan McArdle was strong for Messiah today as he took first place in the 100 Backstroke with a finish time of 55.60. Nike Wieder also took the top spot in the 200 Fly swimming a 2:05.01 while
Andrew Leeper finished in first place in the 50 Free with a 22.26 time.
The strongest performance on the day for the Falcons came in the 100 Fly as
Jason Maccannon finished first (57.53),
Anthony Pompei in second (58.36), and
Andrew Leeper in third (58.81) sweeping the top three spots. McArdle again shined in the 200 IM finishing in first place with a time of 2:05.66 and teammate
Hunter Link took second with a finish time of 2:09.54
In the final event, the 400 Medley Relay, the Falcons finished first and second with the team of Leeper, Maccannon,
Daniel Jessen, and Wolfe taking the top spot (3:19.04) and Pompei,
Travis Porterfield, Link, and Wieder taking the second place spot (3:33.94).
Messiah will be taking a winter hiatus but will be back in action in the new year on Jan. 12, 2017 when they travel to Wilkes Barre, Pa for a double-dual with Arcadia University and King's College.
