Selinsgrove, PA – The Falcons' track and field teams traveled to Susquehanna University on Friday night to compete in the Susquehanna Invitational. Â

Abby McMinn started the night off for the women, running the 60-meter dash for the first time in her young college career. McMinn finished at 9.48 seconds in trials, and in finals clocked in at 9.71 seconds, good for second place.Â

Teammates Rachel Robison and Grace Riedel tied for second in the pole vault, each clearing 10'11.5". With that vault, Reidel beat her previous best of 10'10".Â

In the relays, the Falcon's 4x200-meter relay squad of Christy White, Kristen Frawley, Kaitlyn Hostetler, and Natalie Booz ran a season best for the team in the event. That time put them in second only behind Lebanon Valley.Â

Additional noteworthy performances for the women included:Â
Rebecca Querfeld threw a career best 37'8.75" in the shot put, earning second place. The only competitor to beat her was Division-II foe Carliyonna Thurber of Kutztown.Â
Alissa Rogers and Natalie Ross finished second and fourth, respectively, in the 3,000-meter run. Ross ran a 10:55.23, setting a huge personal record. Â
Emily Senning placed sixth overall in the 800-meter run, finishing with a season best time of 2:24.25.Â
Freshman Kayla Miller set a personal best yet again in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 64.45 seconds in ninth place. Miller has now set personal bests in three of the Falcons' meets this season.Â

Shifting to the men, Phil Headland, Cameron Shirk, and Christopher Scheib took second, third, and fourth, respectively in the 1-mile run. Headland's time (4:24.32) was a career best by ten seconds, and Scheib also beat his previous best by eight seconds.Â

Nathaniel Pardoe took seventh in the 800-meter run, running a season best time of 2:02.09. Staying with mid-distance, the men's 4x800-meter relay ran a team best for the year, finishing in 8:29.25. The relay was comprised of Max Whitehead, Brandin Dyche, Tyler McFeaters, and David Moretz.Â

Additional noteworthy performances for the men included:Â
Dane Cornelius placed second in the pole vault, clearing a season best 14'5.25".Â
Braden Miller finished in sixth place in the 400-meter dash, tying his indoor best with a time of 52.02 seconds. Â
Running in just his third college track meet, freshman Benjamin Schott placed tenth in the 3,000-meter run, setting a new personal record of 9:10.30.Â
Messiah's 4x400-meter relay unit of Braden Miller, Max Whitehead, Pat Zahn, and Scott Kerstetter beat the team's season best in the event, finishing in sixth place in 3:34.14.Â

Messiah will return to Susquehanna next Saturday (2/20) to compete in the Susquehanna Open.Â
