Results
Reading, PA – Messiah College women's track & field finished their three-day MAC Championship meet, where they finished second overall with 150 total points. The Falcons ended the weekend with two gold medals and 26 All-MAC honorees.
Grace Riedel (10' 11.74"),
Rachel Robison (10' 6"), and
Megan Renes (10') placed first, second, and third, respectively, in the women's pole vault. Riedel tied her personal record with her performance, Renes set a season best with her height, and all three earned First Team All-MAC honors.
Alecia Rohrer earned two silver medals with her outstanding performances in the discus and javelin throws. Rohrer set a personal best with her 133' 11" throw in the javelin, and heaved a 119' 3" throw in the discus. Her javelin throw was third-best in program history. Those finishes give her three different First Team All-MAC performances on the weekend.
On the track,
Abby McMinn (15.23) and
Kristen Frawley (16.06) placed second and fourth, respectively in the 100 meter hurdles. Both set career bests with those times and earned First Team All-MAC honors.
Emily Senning also set a personal best, with hers coming in the 800 meter run. Her 2:14.55 finish was good for third place.
The other First Team honor for the Falcons was
Marie Johnson's second place finish in the triple jump. She jumped a distance of 37' 0.25", while
Abby McMinn had a 34' 2.24" jump to take sixth, setting a personal record.
The Falcons will await the NCAA Championship seedings in the coming week to see if any of the women will make the cut.
Alecia Rohrer's monster throw in the javelin gave her the 22nd best throw in the nation, while
Marie Johnson currenly ranks 31st in the triple jump.
Friday's Results
Rebecca Querfeld defended her gold medal in the indoor pentathlon with a gold medal in this weekend's heptathlon. Her 3,847 point total was a personal record in the event.
Brooke Maneval followed with a fifth place finish in the heptathlon with her 3,181 points.
Natalie Ross was the Falcons' other second place finish of the day with her 11:35.59 finish in the 3,000 meter steeple chase. She earned First Team All-MAC honors with that finish, while running mate
Alissa Rogers finished the race in 11;:49.15, giving her fifth place and Second Team All-MAC honors.
Messiah had a handful of women qualify for the finals in their respective events:
- Abby McMinn (15.45) and Kristen Frawley (16.10) are seeded second and fourth, respectively in the 100 meter hurdles. Both also set personal bests with those times.
- Kayla Miller (62.38) is seeded eighth in the 400 meter run in the finals.
- Emily Senning (2:25.94) is seeded fifth in the 800 meter run in tomorrow's final.
- Aja Cunningham ran a personal best in the 400 meter hurdles (1:11.05) to earn the eighth seed in finals.
Alecia Rohrer earned the Falcons' other First Team honor today with her third place finish in the shot put. Her 38' 8.25" throw was good for a new career best. Also receiving honor (Second Team) in the field was
Kaitlyn Hostetler in the long jump, where she placed fifth place with a jump of 16' 9.75".
Lastly, Messiah had three women earn All-MAC honors in the high jump:
Hadlee Coker (5' 2.5"),
Marie Johnson (5' 0.5"), and
Elizabeth Cole (4' 8.75") placed fourth, fifth, and eighth, respectively. Coker's mark was a season best.

Thursday's Results
Catherine Springer earned the womens' first medal with her third place finish in teh 10,000 meter run. Not only did she bring home the bronze medal, but she also ran a personal record time of 39:46.64.
Rebecca Querfeld and
Brooke Maneval finished day one of the women's heptathlon in first (2,440 points) and third (2,063 points) place, respectively. Both started off the meet on a high note with new personal bests in the 100 meter hurdles. Querfeld finished in 16.24 seconds while Maneval crossed the line in 18.07 seconds. Later in the shot put, Querfeld set an outdoor best with her 37' 1.75" throw. The heptathlon will finish up on Friday with the long jump, javelin, and 800 meter run yet to be contested.
The women's 4x800 meter relay squad earned Second Team All-MAC with their fourth place finish. The team of
Kayla Miller, Molly Martin,
Holly Eliason, and
Emily Senning finished the relay with a time of 9:39.61.
The Falcons will return to action tomorrow afternoon when they resume championship competition at Alvernia University.
