Carlisle, PA – Messiah's women's cross country team began their season tonight at the Dickinson Light up the Night meet at nearby Dickinson College. Natalie Ross lead the Falcons with her seventh place finish, leading the team to a third-place finish out of five competing teams.
 
Amidst a field of 70 runners, Ross finished with a time of 19:47.2 to take seventh place overall, while Leanne Weaver (in her first-ever collegiate race) placed tenth with a time of 20:01.8. Rounding out Messiah's top five were Catherine Springer (15th, 20:17.9), Rachel Aukamp (25th, 21:17.3), and Hannah Stolpe (26th, 21:18.0).
 
Messiah finished third overall with a score of 66 points, behind only Dickinson (18) and Washington and Lee (51).
 
Messiah will return to action on Sept. 10th when they travel to Penn State to race in the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational.
