Falcons Split in Double Dual, Defeat the Monarchs

Wilkes Barre, PA - The Messiah men's swim team split in their double dual earlier this afternoon falling to Arcadia University by a score of 195 to 66, but then defeated King's College 135-124.

In the first event of the day, the 200 Medley Relay, the team of Kurtis Plateel, Nolan McArdle, Anthony Pompei, and Drew Wolfe finished second with a time of 1:41.12. Jeremy Wakely swam well in the 1000 Free finishing in third place with a 10.43.97 time. In the 100 Backstroke, Kurtis Plateel (57.30) and Andrew Leeper (57.68) finished third and fourth respectively. Nick Wieder put forth a good performance in the 200 Butterfly coming in third place and teammate Hunter Link wasn't far behind finishing in fourth place. 

In the 100 Free Drew Wolfe swam a 49.41 finishing in third place and Nick Wieder came in third place in the 500 Free swimming a 5:13.50. In the final event the Falcons put forth a good showing and the team of Nolan McArdle, Daniel Jessen, Jason Maccannon, and Drew Wolfe finished in second place with a time of 1:30.43. 

With the split Messiah is 3-7 overall on the season and they are back in action tomorrow hosting Stevenson University at Northern High School in Dillsburg, Pa. Meet time is set for 1:00 p.m.
