Falcons Swim Past Mustangs in Dominating Win

Grantham, PA - The Messiah men's swim team dominated conference opponent Stevenson University earlier this afternoon winning by a score of 123-68. In the opening event, the 200 Medley Relay, the team of Daniel Lupo, Thomas Pond, Phil Rodo, and Jeremy Wakeley started the day off strong taking first place with a time of 1:59.69. Drew Wolfe swam well in the 200 Free finishing in first place with a time of 1:48.89. Nolan McArdle finished first in the 50 Backstroke and teammate Kurtis Platteel finished in second place with a 26.53 time.

Joseph Brennan put forth a strong performance in the 50 Breaststroke coming in first place with a time of 32.08. McArdle picked up his second first-place finish of the day in the 50 Free swimming a 23.13 and teammate Daniel Jessen was not far behind finishing in second with a 23.41 time. In the 100 Breaststroke, the Falcons took the top spot with Jason Maccannon finishing with a time of 1:05.73 and then Anthony Pompei placed third with a time of 1:08.48.

With the win the Falcons are now 4-7 on the season and are back in the water next Saturday when they take on the Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley. Meet time is set for 1:00 p.m. in Annvile, Pa.
