Messiah Track & Field Looks Sharp in First Outing of 2017

Lancaster, PA – Messiah track & field was back in action after a six-week break at the Coach I Open this weekend at Franklin & Marshall. The Falcons collected a number of impressive performances including first-place finishes in both the men's and women's distance medley relays.
 
Nathaniel Pardoe, Max Whitehead, Derrick Peterson, and Joshua Pardoe combined for a time of 10:48.50 to win the men's relay, while Leanne Weaver, Taylor Wiederrecht, Kayla Miller, and Natalie Ross did the same with a time of 13:04.81.
 
The Falcons' other top finishes were collected by Kristen Frawley and Lizzy Cole in the 60 meter hurdles and high jump, respectively. Frawley finished with a time of 9.37 seconds in the hurdles, while Cole cleared 1.57 meters in the high jump.

  • Tim Moses finished second (by tie-breaker) in the pole vault with a mark of 5.00 meters
  • Donnell McNair finished second in the long jump with a mark of 6.26 meters, and also fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.78 meters
  • Brett Koch finished third in the high jump (by tie-breaker) with a mark of 1.78 meters
  • Brandon Straley finished second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:03.16

  • Megan Heiges finished third in the pole vault with a mark of 3.05 meters
  • Abby McMinn finished fourth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.57 seconds
  • Rebecca Querfeld finished fourth in the shot put with a mark of 11.24 meters
  • Alyssa McMinn finished fifth in the shot put (11.11 meters) and sixth in the weight throw (10.27 meters)
  • Marie Johnson finished third (by tieb-reaker) in the high jump with a mark of 1.52 meters; Taylor Wiederrecht was in fourth (1.52 meters) and both Rachael Romain and Brooke Maneval finished in fifth (1.42 meters)
  • Megan Heiges finished third in the pole vault with a height of 3.05 meters
  • Kelsie Kennedy finished in sixth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.49 seconds
 
The Falcons will next compete at the Lebanon Valley College Multi on Friday, Jan. 20. The entire team will be back in action a week from today at the Orange and Maroon Classic at Susquehanna University.
