Falcons Crush Dutchmen in Decisive Win

Annville, PA - The Messiah women's swim team defeated conference opponent Lebanon Valley in a decisive win yesterday by a score of 168-37. In the first event, the 200 Medley Relay, Cassie Cotton, Megan Freeman, Kaitlin Wingert, and Brittany Pond finished in first place with a time of 2:10.71. Emily Reale competed in the 800 Free coming in first place with a time of 10:03.55, while teammate Britta Heath finished in second place with a time of 10:11.19.
 
Joelle Williamson (1:05.41) and Mikaela Schell (1:07.60), finished first and second respectively in the 100 Free. Wingert picked up another first place finish in the 100 Backstroke swimming a time of 1:11.39.
 
In the 200 Free Holly Hagar finished in first place with a finish time of 2:24.70 and Leah Williamson came in second not far behind with a time of 2:25.85. Cotton (4:57.82), Molly Martin (5:02.48), and Brittany Redell (5:02.85) finished in first, second, and third respectively in the 400 Free.
 
In the 200 Free Relay the team of Tara Freeman, Schell, Reale, and Heath came in first place with a time of 1:57.83. Brittany Pond, Kaitlyn Chemidlin, Abbie Gordiany, and Wingert finished in second place with a finish time of 2:00.62. With the win the Falcons improve to 9-3 on the season and they are back in action this weekend when they host a double-dual with Misericordia University and Albright College at Northern High School. Meet time is set for 1:00 p.m. in Dillsburg, Pa.
