Lewisburg, PA – Messiah's
Nathaniel Pardoe and
Brandon Straley each broke school records to highlight strong performances by the Falcons' men's and women's track and field teams this weekend at Bucknell University.
Â
Pardoe set College record in the 1000 meter run with a time of 2:34.90. The mark beat
Phil Headland's time of 2:35.21 that was set just last season. Straley beat a seven-year record in the 500 meter dash, taking down Drew Melnick's time of 1:07.56 by just four-hundredths of a second (1:07.53).
Â
Straley took third in the event overall, though the two runners in front of him were Division I athletes. Pardoe was third in his event as well, and third among Division III competitors. The two records came within just 15 minutes of each other at the Bison Open.
