Grantham, Pa – The Messiah women's swim team won their double-dual this afternoon beating Misericordia University 104 to 58, and then defeated Albright College by a score of 105 to 63.
In the first event of the day, the 400 Medley Relay, the team of
Joelle Williamson,
Sarah Woods,
Cassie Cotton, and
Tara Freeman took second place with a time of 4:09.50.
Emily Reale had a strong performance in the 1000 Free finishing in first place with a time of 11:21.30.
Tara Freeman (2:02.24) and
Molly Martin (2:05.35) finished first and second respectively in the 200 Free, while Williamson earned a first place finish in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:02.07.
Cotton led the way in the 100 Free finishing with a time of 55.47. In the 100 Fly,
Tara Freeman finished in second place with a time of 1:00.64 and teammate
Leah Williamson came in third with a time of 1:03.05.
In the final event of the day, the 200 Free Relay, Messiah swam well taking third place with a time of 1:42.53. Cotton,
Megan Freeman,
Nicole Clemente, and
Mikaela Schell made up the team.
With the win the Falcons improve 11-3 on the season and have a couple weeks off before getting back into the water for the MAC Championships on Feb. 9-12
th in York, Pa. The Falcons will look to capture their fourth-straight MAC Championship Title.
