CHESTER, Pa. – The Messiah women's swim team competed at Widener University this afternoon in a double-dual against the Pride and Hood College Blazers. The Falcons defeated Widener 138-123 and dominated Hood 200-43.
In the first event of the day, the 200 Medley Relay, the team of
Joelle Williamson, Nicea McCabe,
Cassie Cottone, and
Kaitlin Wingert placed first with a time of 1:52.44.
The team of Cotton, Williamson, Wingert, and
Brittany Pond also placed first in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:39.17.
Other notable finishes for the women can be found below:
- Kaitlin Wingert finished first in the 200 Free with a time of 1:57.85 and then also placed first in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:01.
- Joelle Williamson competed in the 100 Backstroke and placed first with a time of 1:01.61. In the 200 Backstroke she came in first with a finish time of 2:16.63.
- In the 200 Fly, Maelyn Elder finished in the top spot with a finish time of 2:13.87.
- Cassie Cotton finished with a time of 25.03 in the 50 Free, which was the fastest time. She also came in first in the 100 Free with a time of 54.14.
The Falcons are back in the water next weekend when they travel to Gettysburg for a double-dual with the Bullets and River Hawks of Susquehanna on Saturday Nov 11. Meet time is set for 1:00 p.m.
