Gettysburg, PA – Messiah men's and women's track & field competed across both the Larry Ellis and Mason-Dixon Invitationals this weekend, and they put together an impressive showing.
At the Larry Ellis Invite, hosted by Princeton University, three Falcons competed and earned standout finishes.
Natalie Ross took 33rd overall in the women's steeplechase among all level competitors. Her time of 11:15.76 was sixth among NCAA Division III runners, and it was also good for second all-time in Messiah's record book. The mark trails only Susan Plissey (11:02.86) from 2004, and it also put Ross at No. 24 in the nation in the event.
Event-mate
Benjamin Schott also splashed his way into the Messiah Top 10 list with a time of 9:30.53 in the men's steeplechase. He finished fourth among Division III competitors (21st overall) and is no eighth all-time for the Falcons. His time has ranked No. 30 in the nation.
The third of three Falcons to compete at Princeton was
Tim Moses, and he finished first among all Division III competitors—and second overall—in the pole vault. He cleared 16'4.75" and remains No. 3 in the nation with a mark of 16'8.75" earned last week.
Messiah sent a larger group to Gettysburg's Mason-Dixon Invitational today, and they also earned standout finishes. The men took first among 14 teams with 190.5 points, and the women finished in second place with 181 points.
