Philadelphia, PA - The Messiah College track team had an amazing opportunity to compete in the Penn Relays this weekend in Philadelphia. On Thursday evening, the women's 4X400m team competed and set a season personal record. The men's 4x400m team followed suit and set a season's best as well. On Saturday morning,
Christian Pavlovich competed against elite throwers in the javelin and finished 11th overall.
Day Three: Men's Javelin | Results
Christian Pavlovich competed in the college men's javelin throw on Saturday morning at the Penn Relays. Pavlovich competed against many elite NCAA division I programs such as; UConn, Oklahoma, Pen State, Clemson, Duke, and Florida State.. He finished in 11th place out of 25 competitors and threw a mark of 60.27m. Pavlovich was just under one meter shy (61.00) of making the finals.

 Day Two: Men's 4x400 | Results
The men's 4x400 squad had an incredible race that brought lots of excitement and enthusiasm to Messiah's track and  field program.

Donnell McNair,
Braden Miller, and
Max Whitehead competed for the Falcons and set a  season's best time of 3:22.08, good enough for sixth in their heat.Â
"It was the most enthusiastic event so far this year," Coach
Dale Fogelsanger commented. He also added that, "Even  though we did not win, this group will spread this enthusiasm to the rest of the team going into the MAC Championships  next weekend."
"Just taking it all in was the best part, you never get to experience something like this with a great group of guys," senior Â
Max Whitehead noted after competing in the prestigious Penn Relays.

Taylor Wiederrecht,
Kayla Miller, and
Rebecca Querfeld represented Messiah and competed in the  women's 4X400 relay. This is the first time that any of these young women have had the opportunity to compete in the  Penn Relays and they did an outstanding job representing the Falcons. The team finished with a time of 4:04.45 which  is a season best for these four.
 "It was very exciting," Taylor Wiederrect commented after competing at the Penn Relays.
Rebecca Querfeld also  noted, "it was an honor to race in such a prestigious event."
Messiah will also be represented in two more events at the Penn Relays.
Christian Pavlovich will throw the javelin Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m., while
Tim Moses will participate in the pole vault on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The Falcons will also be competing in the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg University on Saturday.Â
