Final Results

Center Valley, PA - Messiah women's track and field scored 191 points across three days at the MAC Outdoor Championships to finish first and win the conference title. The Falcons earned five gold medals, including a win in the 4x400 meter relay that put an exclamation point on the team win.

The conference championship is the eighth in program history, and first since 2012. The team won seven-straight championships from 2006 through 2012. Messiah's Dale Fogelsanger was named the Coach of the Year and Leanne Weaver was named Rookie of the Year in the special honors.

Misericordia finished second with 155 points, with Stevenson (121.5), Lebanon Valley (111), and Widener (76) rounding out the top five.

"This was a terrific weekend full of so many incredible performances," Messiah head coach Dale Fogelsanger said. "We all stuck together and competed, and there is so much from this weekend that our women will take with them for a long time."

The Falcons collected 28 All-MAC honors across the weekend, with five golds. Messiah's strong start this weekend was highlighted by Heptathlon champion Rebecca Querfeld, who took a lead in yesterday's multi event and only added on to finish with a personal record 3,921 points. The senior was dominant to win, and just two spots behind her was first-year competitor Taylor Wiederrecht who secured a personal record of her own with 3,603 points.

Natalie Ross also finished first in the Steeplechase, and the field competitors also collected big points as Megan Renes took first in the pole vault and Alyssa McMinn took first in the discus. Megan Heiges tied Renes in the pole vault and took second overall.

Catherine Springer (10000 meter run), Marie Johnson (triple jump), and Leah Springer (javelin) also picked up silver medal finishes, as did Leanne Weaver in both the 800 meter run and 400 meter hurdles, respectively.
