GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Messiah women's swim team defeated Wilkes University at home today by a score of 114-46. Overall a strong team effort to earn this victory and there were a handful of good individual performances as well.
 
Head coach Katie McComb was very pleased with the team's performance in the water. "The meet was really fun to watch. We're only a few weeks away from MAC's, so we are trying to nail down how to swim our races efficiently. Both men and women did a great job executing and I'm so thankful to be their coach."
 
Messiah is back in action on Saturday Jan. 27 when they host Lebanon Valley College with a meet time of 1:00 p.m.
 
See below for highlights from the meet:
 

• In the 400 Medley Relay the team of Kaylee Hollenbach, Nicea McCabe, Cassie Cotton, and Mikaela Schell finished in first with a time of 4:11.54.
• Kaylee Hollenbach placed first in the 200 Free with a time a 2:05.04 and Brittany Pond came in second in second with a time of 2:09.03.
• In the 50 Free, Joelle Williamson (25.91) and Mikaela Schell (26.88) finished in first and second respectively.
• Abigail Gordiany swam well in the 100 Fly taking the top spot with a time of 1:03.67.
• Cassie Cotton finished first in the 100 Free with a time of 55.81 and Nicea McCabe came in second with a time of 59.89.
• In the 100 Back Maelyn Elder swam a time of 1:04.18 for first place and in the 500 Free Molly Martin finished first with a time of 5:46.47.
