LANCASTER, Pa. - The Messiah men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at Franklin & Marshall College this evening. There were strong performances overall, including some high finishes by some individuals.
Mikayla Lewin placed first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:33.53 and
Elizabeth Cole finished first in the high jump with a mark of 1.55m. In the pole vault,
Megan Renes hit a mark of 2.90m which earned her first place, while
Taylor Wiederrecht finished first in the long jump with a jump of 4.88m.
On the men's side
Pat Zahn ran the 200 meter dash and placed third with a time of 24.61. In the 60 meter dash
Brendan Provan (7.56) and Zahn (7.60) finished second and third respectively. In the pole vault
Brett Garbrick hit a mark of 3.97m finishing in second while
Caleb Christer placed third with a mark of 3.66m. Provan also competed in the long jump finishing in second place with a jump of 6.04m.
Galen Fitzkee ran the 3000 meter run in a time of 9:17.32 finishing in fifth place and in the 800 meter run
Shane Braunworth placed fourth with a finish time of 2:12.90.
Dale Lingle competed in the 400 meter dash placing third with a time of 57.58. Finally, in the men's weight throw,
Erik Dyrli placed first with a mark of 12.74m behind an unattached thrower.
The Falcons are back in action tomorrow with some athletes competing at the Bison Open hosted by Bucknell University.Â
