McMinn Breaks School Record, Highlights Day Two at Bison Open

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Messiah men's and women's indoor track and field team completed competition in the Bison Open today. There were some good performance by individuals including some top-five finishes. Alyssa McMinn broke the school record in the 20lb. weight throw with a toss of 13.52m with the previous record of 13.31m held by Alyssa Lengel '11.

Caleb Puleo put forth a strong individual performance earning five PR's on the day and teammate Aaron Gray finished strong placing fifth overall with 4,206 total points.

The Falcons will be back in action on Feb. 3 at the DuCharme Invitational in Carlise, Pa.

See below for highlights from today's competition:
  • Kayla  Miller ran well int he 800 meter run plaching fourth with a time of 2:26.92.
  • Kristen Frawley competed in the 60 meter hurdles and placed fifth with a time of 9.27 seconds.
  • Alex Scheib set a new PR in the 800 meter run finishing with a time of 1:59.01.
  • Donnell McNair placed fifth int he long jump with a mark of 5.92.
  • Ben Schott finished ninth overall in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:52.55.
  • Kyler Shea (15:41.42) and Kirk Mummert (15:43.64) ran in the 5000 meter run and finished seventh an eighth respectively.

Friday Jan. 26 Highlights
  • Kyler Shea finished in seventh place in the 5000 meter run with a time of 15:41.42 and Kirk Mummer wasn't far behind in eighth with a time of 15:43.64. 
  • In the 60 meter hurldes, Kristen Frawley ran in the finals placing fifth with a time of 9.27 seconds.
  • Aaron Gray competed in the men's heptathlon and after day one is in tenth place with a total score of 2,222 points.
