GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Messiah women's swimming split a double dual against the Gettysburg Bullets and the Susquehanna River Hawks in Gettysburg on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons topped the River Hawks by a final score of 132-128 and fell to the Bullets by a 147-113 final. Top finishes in the 400 Free Relay (3:44.0) and 200 Medley Relay (1:51.59) highlighted the team effort for Messiah.
How It Happened
In addition to the two relay victories, the Falcons also claimed a trio of individual victories with
Kaylee Hollenbach winning the 100 Back (59.91) and 200 Back (2:10.61) while
Cassie Cotton took first in the 100 Fly in a time of 1:00.10.

In addition to her victory in the 100 Fly, Cotton finished second in the 50 Free with a time of 25.28. Her time was less than a second behind the winner, Kate Crilly's (Gettysburg)mark of 24.45.

Freshman
Nancie Ziegler had a strong day in the pool, turning in the top time in the conference in the 1000 Free (10:56.20) while finishing fourth in the event. She was less than four seconds behind the leader, Gettysburg's Megan Wojnar (10:52.24). The 1000 Free was not even the best finish of the day for Ziegler, who took third-place in the 500 Free in a time of 5:24.29.

Maelyn Elder turned in strong showings in the 100 Fly and 200 IM with second and third-place finishes, respectively. Elder took second in the 100 Fly behind teammate
Cassie Cotton in a time of 1:01.61 and then in the very next event finished in third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:19.81.

Messiah will off for a little over two weeks before getting back in the pool on Nov. 27 at Dickinson at 7:00 p.m. for a dual with the Red Devils.
