Falcons Show Well at Susquehanna Invite

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Messiah's men's and women's track and field teams made the short trip to Susquehanna University for the Susquehanna Invitational on Friday night to compete against both Division II and Division III teams.

The Falcons next compete at the MAC Indoor Championships at Lehigh University from Feb. 23-24.

See below for notable performances from the meet:

Women:
  • Caroline Wilson, Christina Muchmore, and Megan Mihaljevic all PR'd in the 60-meter run with times of 9.44 seconds, 9.46 seconds, and 9.71 seconds, respectively
  • Kristen Frawley finished eighth overall and fourth among DIII runners in the 200-meter with a time of 28.28 seconds
  • Leanne Weaver took first overall and PR'd in the 400-meter with a time of 1:01.36
  • Kayla Miller placed first in the 800-meter with a time of 2:24.35
  • Messiah had a great mile run with three Falcons setting PR's: Mikayla Lewin (6th, 5:38.21), Ally Austen (10th, 5:45.09), and Emma Fertig (12th, 5:46.74)
  • Sarah Codd and Elise Davenport each set PR's in the 3000 with times of 11:10.44 and 11:55.96, respectively
  • Taylor Wiederrecht came in second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.92
  • Elizabeth Cole and Taylor Wiederrecht finished second and third in the high jump, clearing marks of 1.57m and 1.52m, respectively
  • Megan Renes earned third-place in the pole vault by clearing a mark of 2.90m
  • Julia Gesheimer set a PR in the long jump with a mark of 4.63m
  • Rachael Romain finished in second in the triple jump with a distance of 10.57m
  • Alyssa McMinn and Lila Goodhile both set PR's in the shot put, as McMinn placed second overall with a mark of 12.15m and Goodhile reached 8.96m

Men:
  • Matthew Royer finished second overall in the 400-meter run with a time of 52.24
  • Alex Scheib placed fourth overall in teh 800-meter run with a time of 2:00.21
  • Galen Fitzkee ran a great race in the mile run, placing seventh with a PR of 4:35.23
  • Zachary Lofties placed seventh in the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:23.78
  • Messiah's distance medley relay team of Tyler McFeaters, Derrick Peterson, Matthew Royer, and Alex Scheib dominated the competition, winning by over 15 seconds with a time of 10:36.38 that ranks fourth all-time in program history
  • Benjamin Danso finished fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.83m and second in the long jump with a mark of 6.51m
