YORK, Pa. – Thanks to a tremendous last-day push that included multiple program records, Messiah men's swimming was one of three teams to score over 400 points, and they finished third overall at the MAC Championships on Sunday night. Messiah finished with 449.5 points—a new program high by 49.5 points—and finished ahead of fourth-place Widener by more than 75 points.

Sunday's highlights included Drew Wolfe (100 Free), Nolan McArdle (200 Breast), and the 400 Free Relay team all collected third-place finishes, respectively. McArdle and the 400 Free group also set Messiah records in the process.

McArdle's time of 2:07.71 in the 200 Breast was just 0.30 seconds behind the second-place finisher, but his mark best his prelim time of 2:09.23. His finals time also set the new standard in the program, eclipsing his older brother Zachary's time of 2:13.26 set at the 2012 MAC Championships.

As for the 400 Free Relay, Ridge Hagar, Daniel Logan, Andrew Leeper, and Drew Wolfe clocked in at 3:10.79 to score the last 32 points of the weekend. Their performance beat the program record—set last year at the MAC Championships—by 1.12 seconds. Leeper and Wolfe were among that group.

Wolfe, who didn't set a Messiah record in the 100 Free final on Sunday night, did set a new standard in the prelims on Sunday morning with a time of 46.56.

The third place finish for Messiah ties their best-ever result from 2016, when they scored exactly 400 points. Messiah has now been among the top-four in each of the past three seasons.
