CHESTER, Pa. – The Messiah men's and women's track & field teams completed competition at the Widener Invitational and
Leanne Weaver had a tremendous day setting a new program record in the 800m run with a time of 2:13.57 and finished first place. Her time could be ranked in the top-10 nationally after this weekend. For the men,
Christian Pavlovich had a strong performance in the javelin throwing a mark of 62.04m for a second place finish. The Falcons are back in action next week when athletes will compete in the Penn Relays being held Apr. 24-28 in Philadelphia, Pa.

Women
Men
- In the 1500m run Alex Scheib placed third with a time of 3:56.93 and Tyler McFeaters ran it in a time of 4:00.21 for an eighth place finish. Jack Franceschina qualified for MAC Championships with his finish time of 4:09.47.
- Aaron Gray competed in the 110m hurldes and placed ninth with a time of 16.13 seconds.
- In the 800m run Matthew Royer ran a time of 1:55.51 for a great second place finish.
Friday April 20
The Messiah men's and women's track & field teams were competing this afternoon and there were some strong performances by individuals.
Alyssa McMinn who was at the Widener Invitational broke the program record in the discus throw with a mark of 41.21m.
Benjamin Schott was running at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton and competed in the 3000m steeplechase event finishing in a time of 9:14.41. That time is a personal record for Schott as well as ranked second in the program all-time records.

- Alecia Rohrer competed in the shot put and had a throw of 11.16m for ninth place.
- McMinn was also a competitor in this event and had a throw of 10.97m for 13th place.
- Sarah Codd ran in the 5000m run and had a finish time of 18:35.17 for a 13th place finish. Danielle Cardone ran in a time of 19:01.53.
- Kirk Mummert ran in the men's 5000m run and finished in a time of 15:35.87 with teammate Kyler Shea coming in a time of 15:38.72. Zachary Lofties also competed running in a time of 15:40.75.
