LEWISBURG, Pa. - The men's track and field team wrapped up day two of competition at the Bucknell Open and Multi.
Matthew Royer earned a first place finish in the 800m, running a 1:57.90.
Brendan Provan hit a personal best mark of 13.83m in the triple jump, finishing in second overall but first among NCAA student-athletes.
Tyler McFeaters also highlighted the Falcons' performances with a second-place finish in the mile, coming across the finish line in 4:22.70.
In The Results
In the 60m,
Brendan Provan ran a 7.29, good for 18th-place. Provan continued to compete throughout the day with a 12th-place finish in the long jump, jumping 6.24m. Provan's most impressive performance of the day came in the triple jump as he jumped a personal best mark of 13.83m. The mark was good for second overall in the meet but first among NCAA student-athlete competitors.Â
Matthew Royer led the charge in the 800m, finishing first overall with a time of 1:57.90.
Brandin Dyche also competed in the 800m, coming through the line in 2:03.63 to take 11th-place.
Tyler McFeaters highlighted the Falcons' performance in the mile, fighting his way to the line in 4:22.70 to take second-place overall. McFeaters' time puts him in the ninth spot on Messiah's indoor top-10 list.
Alex Scheib also ran in the mile today, running a time of 4:43.02.
In the 3,000m,
Kirk Mummert led all Falcons, running 9:05.18 to take 8th-place overall.
Zachary Lofties was the second Falcon to come through the finish, running the race in 9:15.62 to take 17th-place.
Galen Fitzkee rounded out Messiah's efforts in the 3,000m with a 24th-place finish with a time of 9:28.22.
In the shot put, Erik Dryli took 23rd with a 11.70m throw.Â
On the second day of the men's heptathlon,
Caleb Puleo started the day off with a 9.63 in the 60m hurdles. Puleo cleared a mark of 3.50m in the pole vault and ended his heptathlon by running a 3:26.56 in the 1,000m. Overall, Puleo finished with 3,849 points which was good for 12th-place.
